MARION ROSE

Marion

Marion was born in Scotland, grew up in Cumbria and went to university in North Wales. After travelling, she settled in London and began a career in educational publishing.

As an editor, Marion enjoyed working with writers and illustrators. In fact, she often wished she could find the time to do some writing herself. Eventually she went freelance, became a mum and allocated one day a week to write for children.

Marion’s first novel was shortlisted for the Kathleen Fidler Award. Since then, she’s published five picture books and an early reader. Her books often feature dragons, and draw on folk and fairy tales…

She ran many workshops in primary schools on books and creative writing, and helped found Islington Writers for Children. Quite recently, Marion has added book-reviewing and travel blogging to her writing interests.
