JUDY CUMBERBATCH 1952 – 2022

Judy Cumberbatch worked as a journalist, translator and teacher before turning her hand to children’s writing. Her published works include Sandstorm (CUP) and Can You Hear the Sea?(Bloomsbury). She enjoys writing picture books and chapter books for older children and often draws on her own experience of living abroad for her settings. Her most recent project has been to collaborate, with Ania Marzec-Manser, on a child’s memoir of Poland during the Second World War.
