ELIZABETH HAWKSLEY

rachelsummerson-1Elizabeth Hawksley started her career writing for various fringe theatre companies and her plays have been performed at the Royal Court Theatre Upstairs, the Oxford Playhouse and the Edinburgh Festival.

Elizabeth is a reader for the Romantic Novelists Association New Writers™ Scheme and she also reads for a well-known authors™ advisory service. She was invited to be a reader for the Harry Bowling Prize in 2004.

She also lectures and takes workshops on various aspects of creative

writing in schools, colleges, writing groups and at conferences.

She has a B.A. Hons degree from the University of Sussex, a P.G.C.E. from the Institute of Education, University of London, and a M.A., with distinction, from Birkbeck College.

Elizabeth Hawksley has had thirteen novels published, of which the most recent is Highland Summer. Her book Frost Fair was short-listed for the Elizabeth Goudge Award in 2000.  Her latest book, co-authored with Jenny Haddon (who writes as Sophie Weston), is Getting the Point: a panic-free guide to English punctuation for adults, published by Floris in 2006.
